btw, can the surgery change his voice? |
I wonder the same thing.
Though I don't think so, and I hope it won't.

This is really horrible...I knew that the concert would be canceled, but this...
We really hope that he is gonna be okay and that his beautiful voice is not going to be damaged.

^ indeed. His beautiful voice can't be damaged!
I'm hoping and wishing him the best!
and I looked at a vid, like Geo posted I think, and a girl said:
-"If Bill's voice get damaged, we can just say goodbye to the boys."
(or something in that style.) God, I'm so hoping
everything will be alright and that his voice won't be destroyed.
I can't live without TH!

Oh god this is so horrible. Poor poor Bill.
Just try and stay posotive people. For Bill.
Apparently Ashlee simpson, justin timberlake, the lead singer from the darkness and davey havok have all had cysts and recovered fine.
Edit: Actually forget that. Im not sure if it's true. I dont know if anyone else knows, but thats what some girl told me anyway...

Check out the link I posted, with the list of everyone who has had it before. None of those people experienced much change in their voice - in fact, when there WAS a change it was for the better. Some people reported that their voice was actually better after the surgery, and I would guess it would be because singing isn't so difficult after they get the hindrance removed, and the therapy and training he will have as part of his recovery will strengthen it and teach him how to sing without forcing anything.
So if there's a change at all, it will be for the best

I am with you on this one Mel.
The break will do him and the rest of the band loads of good. After the surgery he won't have to strain his voice so much and he will get (additional) vocal training. Also the management will think twice about working them to the bone again, since they learned a very expensive lesson.
I bet when he gets back to singing his voice will have improved so much he can even win over the anti-fans
Besides, would God send us an angel and then take away his tool?

Whoa loads of famous people have done it like Withney and Joss stone
I hope his voice will even be better when he´s done |
I dunno why but that list of names kinda scares me
But on the other hand, Bill's voice might get better after recovery so let's hope for that.
Oh, and I agree with you, Ria. Who knows the anti-fans might get hooked and then turn into fans, ey? XD

Offical German TH site news:
TOKIO HOTEL TOURABSAGE
Quick translation by me :
TH cancellation
After the cancellation of shows in Portugal, Spain, France and Italy, the band unfortunately now has to cancel the rest of the sold out dates for the 1000 Hotels European Tour. A further examination by a doctor has showed that Bill has to have his vocal chords operated upon. The procedure must be done as soon as possible.
If and when the shows can be rescheduled, will become apparent in the next days. The already purchased tickets can be exchanged at the VVK offices.
Bill, Tom, Gustav and Georg are totally frustrated and utterly devastated that they have to break off the tour. Bill is especially crushed (broken), because for a singer there is nothing worse than not being able to sing. He hopes dat everything will go well regarding the surgery and that he can return to the stage soon. The boys are extremely sorry, but unfortunately there was no other solution and they hope you will understand this. We will keep you posted.
